The Principal will be part of a highly collaborative team with the responsibility for building strong partnerships with clients and candidates through new and existing business development, and full life-cycle recruitment. This role focuses on retained search engagements within for‑profit healthcare organizations and health systems, partnering closely with senior healthcare leaders while delivering high‑quality search execution.
This includes working closely with the assigned search execution team in the delivery of utmost quality within the required timescales. Your role is that of a trusted advisor to our clients whilst contributing to Korn Ferry International’s integrated solutions sales strategy.
This role requires candidates to be based in the Pacific or Mountain Time Zone to effectively support client needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop a commercial strategy aligned to Korn Ferry’s healthcare priorities, in collaboration with colleagues across the Healthcare team.
Align and drive client opportunities within the for‑profit healthcare and health systems sector, setting and executing business and market strategy for assigned segments or niches.
The Principal is responsible for providing expertise to the markets to win new business and to ensure repeat business.
Ensure the appropriate level of expertise, consistent knowledge and support is given to sector searches.
Responsible for ensuring execution of assignments, repeat business, new client opportunities and excellent client service and delivery.
The role builds relationships with key Korn Ferry partners to form strategic client relationships, while also identifying potential opportunities outside of the channel.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Professional experience within a retained search environment, ideally with a focus on healthcare, including strong market knowledge and a relevant client and candidate network.
Demonstrated experience conducting senior‑level searches (Director, VP, Senior VP and/or C‑suite) within health systems, hospitals, or for‑profit healthcare organizations.
Experience as a full life-cycle recruiter for searches, developing search strategies and client/candidate management.
Strong Business Development experience and negotiation skills. Consultative mindset and ability to anticipate client needs. Ability to quickly learn about different business environments and cultures and propose relevant solutions.
Matrix and direct team leadership experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt to new processes and effectively deal with change and ambiguity.

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
