This role is for an experienced Total Rewards professional who wants to help organisations navigate that shift. You will support clients in building transparent, equitable, and well‑structured reward frameworks that strengthen trust, support performance, and stand up to scrutiny.
Purpose of the role
You will design and deliver tailored Total Rewards solutions aligned with your clients’ organisational strategy, including:
Salary structures, annual salary review approaches, bonus schemes, and benefit policies
Supporting organisations in preparing for and implementing the EU Pay Transparency Directive
Building solid job architecture and grading structures that form the foundation for fair and transparent pay
What you will do
As a (Senior) Principal, you will work on complex client engagements with significant autonomy and responsibility. The role combines senior advisory work, hands‑on delivery, and business development.
Core focus: Pay Transparency and Reward Foundations
Deliver job analysis, job evaluation, and grading projects to establish clear “equal work / work of equal value” frameworks
Support clients in defining transparent pay structures, salary ranges, and clear reward principles
Help organisations translate pay transparency requirements into practical, workable reward frameworks
Identify pay gaps through data‑driven analysis and support clients in defining appropriate actions
Strengthen trust and understanding around pay decisions among leadership, HR, and employees
Client advisory and enablement
Act as a trusted advisor to clients across sectors and countries
Analyse HR and market data and translate insights into clear advice and recommendations
Contribute to proposals, bids, and commercial discussions
Facilitate workshops with senior management and key stakeholders
Support client onboarding and training related to Korn Ferry’s Talent Suite, ensuring reward strategies are embedded in day‑to‑day practice
Contribute to the creation, renewal, and maintenance of the reward database in the assigned country
Share expertise, insights, and best practices within the EMEA Total Rewards community
Manage projects effectively, including planning, forecasting, and regular progress updates
Experience and professional background
You bring deep experience in Total Rewards / Compensation & Benefits and are comfortable advising senior stakeholders.
You likely have experience in several of the following areas:
Job evaluation, salary benchmarking, career architecture, performance management, and/or executive pay
Leading complex reward or HR programmes with multiple stakeholders
Working in consulting or professional services within Total Rewards, C&B, Mobility, or broader HR topics
Engaging with Works Councils (Ondernemingsraad) or employee representation
Strong analytical capability and confidence working with data and Excel
Clear, structured communication and a pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset
A bachelor’s or master’s degree is useful (e.g. business administration, business engineering, law, mathematics, or similar).
Skills and competencies
Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills
High level of client focus and attention to detail
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
Able to deliver high‑quality work in complex and sometimes ambiguous situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
Open to change and able to adapt to new tools, approaches, and client needs
